REVIEW LAST MEETING'S MINUTES:
No additions or corrections.
WEB SITE: Matt
is looking for someone to take over after next year to be trained during the
upcoming year.
Let us know if anyone is interested.
GAME SCORE REPORTING:
Excellent job this last weekend, so we will try the phone call approach again.
Matt's number is 425-882-1850.
SCHEDULE REVIEW: All
times at Remond High have been moved up an hour. The Semi-pros are in their
finals week at Pop Keeney at 1900 Saturday evening. All semi-finals games are
as follows:
Rookies/Cubs:
Sammamish High
(A side note: for the Cubs game, the Wolverines will wear
white, Issy will
wear purple)
Sophs/JV: Redmond High
Varsity:
Eastlake High
For ALL post-season play, you must follow
GEJFA rules so no deviations please!
GAME JERSEY COLORS: By next year, all teams should have home and away
jerseys so there is no confusion about primary (home) and contrasting
(visitor) colors.
COACH AND PLAYER BEHAVIOR-SPORTSMANSHIP:
We need to make sure that our younger referees don't feel intimidated by our
older coaches. Please make sure your coaches understand the importance of good
behavior ESPECIALLY during the playoffs.
Rick Wells reported
on the grievance committee activity
by letting us know that a coach had been suspended last week and had been
reinstated this week. Ed Rafferty re-iterated that
we could eliminate alot of what is being dealt with if the systems did a
better job of internal policing of and communication with our staffs . He
also noted that all of the coaches suspended this year did not attend the
coaches clinic and indicated that he would come up with a test to insure not
only attendance, but an understanding of what was communicated.
OFFICIALS: We need more, especially adult
officials, so recruit if you can. Bob
Goldberg indicated a problem with a sideline person at a Woodinville game that
may need to be addressed by grievance. A financial report for each system was
handed out. If you had more teams, you paid more.
WINTER MEETINGS/COMMITTEE WORK: The
following volunteers were verified for upcoming work:
Coaches
Guide: Tom Tomlinson; Shawn O'Brien and Glenn Wells
Roster
Review: Chuck Nichols
Huskies:
Knights; Redmond; Kirkland; Wolverines
Seahawks:
Issaquah
Still need
volunteers for Rules Updates/Clarifications and Coaches Selection/behavior
guide
EARLY SIGN-UPS: In order to help with scheduling next year, all systems are
encouraged to have early sign-ups . Systems
should set limits lower than 32 (26-28) and create waiting lists to determine
whether they should split or not. Wolverines asked if there were any specific
rules against soliciting specific player early sign-ups and while there is
nothing specific, all systems are encouraged to sign up as many kids as
possible so we grow from within.
Nominations: Mike Pattison for VP and myself for Secretary.
Other Business:
A clarification of the points system was asked for by the Wolverines. Once
explained, no other objections were noted.
The meeting adjourned at 2117.
NEXT MEETING: December
4th AT 7PM AT BELLEVUE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB.
