Schedule Review
Ř (Rookie/Cubs @ Eastlake HS; Soph/JV @ Issaquah HS; Varsity @ Bellevue HS)
Ř 11/11 find their own matchup & field; if with outside program, need rosters & approval
Ř Order of games – games will be in the order Rookies to Seniors unless there is good reason to alter that order. This is not something we will know until we know who is in the Championships.
Ř We have made an agreement with Final Take Video Productions for the Champion Game videos. Only DVDs will be provided. The DVDs will cost $20 each this year, because we are going to pay more up front for the general production. There will be a minimum of 20 DVDs per game or there will be penalties. Also, there will be a rebate for each DVD more than 20.
Rosters and Background Checks – we have many missing master rosters and many missing background check forms. I suspect some of these were never submitted, however, there are also those that seem to be misplaced. Because some of the background check forms didn’t have the System on them, it is possible that they are just misfiled. Billie did a super job of reviewing all these items and already most have been resubmitted. We need to make significant improvements in this area with more of the administrative burden being picked up by the Systems. Alternatively, we create a bigger executive board.
Grievance Committee report – last week and this week, the Grievance Committee reviewed the ejection of two coaches. In both cases, the automatic one game suspension was affirmed and no additional penalty was imposed. We haven’t had any violations of the substitution rules protested and brought to Grievance yet this year, however, we have had a few reports from observers. Make sure your coaches understand and apply the rule properly so we don’t have any late season problems.
Coach and player behavior – sportsmanship – perceptions are sometimes everything … be careful in our choice of words – pay close attention to the unsportsmanlike fouls covered in Rule 9.
Conduct at fields – we need to follow the Rules (attachment) always. We need to keep any liquids other than water off the artificial turf fields. Make sure your parents all know these rules and that they are ALWAYS respectful of the System field manager’s direction, but even more importantly that they follow any directions from the School District Event Managers.
Officials
· Numbers – comments about the lack of officials per game (2 or 3 vs 3 or 4). We need more officials and will for next year, put more emphasis on this in the off season.
