Minutes of the last meeting, August 22, were provided with the meeting agenda.  Comments were requested to be emailed to John.  If none received, then the minutes will be posted to the web site as they are.

·         Review

§         Reminder that all Background Check forms should now be submitted.  We will be checking against rosters soon and will suspend any coach for whom a background check has not been conducted until such time as the check has been made.

§         Boys and Girls Club fees are overdue.

§         Referee/field use fees due tonight.

·         Jamboree Format -- While fresh on everyone’s mind, discussed proposal for getting more officials to the jamborees.  Experienced officials would be assigned and offered $10 an hour; inexperienced officials would be assigned for training purposes and their payment comes in form of extra $2 per game during the season.  This will be discussed further in the off season.

·         Roster review -- Make corrections, provide missing B/Cs; Final Master Roster is due on or before September 15th; get stamped at Club.

·         Post Season Games (other than playoffs)

§         Remind your coaches that there is a mandatory Game 9; it is to be scheduled after Game 8; except for teams in the playoff quarter finals, Game 9 matches teams with like records.

§         Game 10 to be arranged between teams that provide field.

§         Need to know field availability for Game 9 (November 4)

§         Championship at Mt Si

·         Equipment

Mouth guards – are to be colored or at least partial colored (not clear or white). Mouth guard prescribed by a dentist for the protection of orthodontic work can be clear as long as they are accompanied by a dentist’s prescription or note.

Detachable cleats are not permitted by our rules, however, we should revisit this matter in the off season.

Tinted glasses/shields – only those shields that are clear may be used, except that a tinted shield prescribed by a doctor for light sensitivity is acceptable provided it is accompanied by a prescription or note.

Jewelry and wrist bracklets including the rubber ones are not allowed.

·         Participation rules

§         Another reminder to the coaches regarding the Substitution Rule is appropriate.

§         Discipline policies must be approved by the System Director or System Board and applied uniformly and fairly.  During roster exchange, coaches are to note the players on the other teams who are being disciplined; this information is to be included in the Game Report.

·         Scouting -- We had discussed this at the last meeting but need confirmation as it has already been raised as question/issue.  Scouting cannot use either video or still pictures.  Video passes apply to motion picture cameras only.  Revisit in off season.

·         Web site updates -- Billie has made more Game Schedule and Game Report improvements.  Game Reports should be easy to submit, but anyone having problems can call Billie for help.

·         Game Reports and Game Scores

·         Officials -- Appears numbers are down this year; more officials left than there are replacements.  In fact it would appear we only have one new official.  There will only be three officials assigned to each game until we can get the numbers up.

·         Sportsmanship -- ZERO TOLERANCE regarding bad behavior/conduct.  We all know that this policy is not being enforced to the letter.  Officials are generally tolerant of some behavior, but ultimately will have enough.  Each officials has a different line of tolerance.

·         Championship video – We will go with Final Take again this year with a higher upfront production fee and a lower per DVD fee to the players/parents.

·         Other Business
