GEJFA Meeting Minutes
August 24, 2004
Call to
order at 8:00PM.

Minutes
of last meeting were handed out. Aug 16th. If there are corrections
or other changes needed, send to John; otherwise, they will be posted as they
are to the web site.
Website updates Field Locations Check
your field locations for additions, deletions and/or corrections and get that
information to Sham.
Calendar review
Important Dates

Overdue WSP
forms, Code of Conducts
1.
Coaches will be
suspended if there are no WSP/Coaches Conduct forms on file for them.
·
Due tonight
1.
Master roster
and birth certificates (transfers and waivers); still preliminary in nature.
Final Master Roster is due by September 17th. Need to bring them to
Club to be stamped.
2.
Boys and Girls
Club Fees ($13 per player) due to Bellevue Boys and Girls Club. ALL SYSTEMS WHO
NEEDED TO DID BRING CHECKS; GREAT. Unfortunately, Redmond Boys and Girls Club
members will also need to join Bellevue Boys and Girl Club; Redmond Club has
indicated that they do not support or cover our program.

September 7th

Referee/Field
use and Admin fees are due. Handout at last meeting.
·
Players can
still be added to rosters until the Friday before the Second Game.
Insurance
·
John is looking
into the supplementary insurance provided under the Boys and Girls Club
umbrella. John will give a report at the next meeting or email. In the past,
our coaches were eligible for a $2M insurance coverage under NYSCA (National
Youth Sports Coaches Association) for which attendance at a coaching clinic was
required. A local organization, Athletes for a Better World, is in the process
of developing their own coaching clinic and John will see if the same insurance
coverage will be available.
Coaches
·
Coaches Meeting
format, attendance, no guest speaker was present, feedback is welcome;
comments seemed favorable.
·
Coaches
Evaluation see handout as something Systems may want to use.
·
First Aid up
to systems to enforce, need to identify them on roster.
·
Start recruiting
coaches now for next year. have existing coaches start training their
assistance to become head coaches.
Jamborees
·
August 28
Woodinville, Skyline and Newport to host Jamborees
·
September 4
Eastlake, Bothell and SnoValley to host Jamborees
·
Officials This
is an opportunity for experienced referees to educate the newbies, please
remember that there is no arguing with the referees and no keeping or posting
scores.
Game
Schedule
·
Changes check
the schedules and, if you see problems, let Shawn know ASAP.
·
Make sure to
update your websites with your coaches contact information so that Shawn or
Billie can contact them as may be needed in case of short notice changes.
·
Game scores to
Sham Sat night/Sun morning assign someone let John and Sham know whom that
person will be.
·
Field Manager
Job Description (posted on website) this is a guide to go by.
Game
Reports (download from website)
·
Email by Monday
evening following game assign someone email John & Sham name of person for
your system-working on a pull down menu to simplify entries on report.
Master
Roster Review
·
Completed what
really amounted to the second preliminary review tonight
Registration discussion for the future
·
Need firm
commitment from systems by July 1.
·
Must take 26
minimum players.
Review
·
Huskies/Seahawks
1.
Had some
difficulty.
2.
Husky game is
not available this year.
3.
Still working on
Seahawks.
·
Jersey colors (check the rules let us know of any
changes)
1.
The colors for
the teams can be found in the rules on the website about ½ way through. Jersey,
Helmet and pant colors are available.
Other
Business
·
Bainbridge will
play in our system with their Senior team only. They were present at the
meeting.
·
Next Meeting
will be September 7th, 8 pm at the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club
