Call to order at 7:00pm
Introductions – went around the room introducing ourselves.
- Web site updates – please be sure to update your
websites, new folks are looking for information on how to contact you and
John will be referring them to your websites. You are encouraged to check
out other systems websites as well, there are some really good ones out
there.
- E-mail addresses – Please make sure that the correct
information is on your website and updated with John so that he can get the
information from the GEJFA to your system.
Minutes of the last meeting (February 8, 2004) – handed
out.
- Please read them soon and offer any changes to John,
otherwise they will be considered approved and will be posted to the web
site.
Winter work
- Rules clarifications - provided in advance by email
- call for vote of approval – motion to approve changes – unanimously
passed
- Frequently Asked Questions- John is looking for more
questions, please review and submit them to John. Otherwise, the FAQs as
currently written will be posted to the web site.
- GEJFA web site – Sham is updating.
- Huskies & Seahawks – Inglemoor has the Huskies for
Apple Cup – John is working on the Seahawks.
Calendar review (note upcoming important dates)
- Breakout preparation meeting- the folks that will be
doing the presentations will need to meet prior to the coaching clinic to go
over important points that need to be presented.
- Roster Review – Each system needs to have one person
(preferably not yourselves) to go over rosters on August 2nd
(Tuesday). It should take 1-2 hours and refreshments will be provided.
- Coaches Meeting - more later
- System fees -- handout- Systems can turn
their fees in early, it could be used now. Please calculate them using the
handouts provided.
Scheduling
- Team Count – Billie stated what information that he
had; he collected most of the rest of the information from the Systems.

Coaches
- Coach selections – It is the System’s responsibility
to select their coaches and have them fill out the coaching application.
Please use the one that is provided by GEJFA.
- Coaching Application – posted on the web site
(Preferred method of coaching application)– handout- This will
include the section that is the Washington State Patrol Background check;
all info must be filled out including the driver’s license number and social
security number and their signature. This also takes the place of the code
of conduct form.

- NFL/NFF Coaching Academy - This is a really good
clinic for coaches. They include classroom training, on field training,
etc. Walk-ins are welcome. The presenters are all volunteers. Did you get
the word out to your coaches?
- Coach training -- First aid requirement – July 30 at
Northshore Family Center. By July 15th need count on all coaches
so that food can be arranged. Be sure to bring one of your first aid kits.
There will be a clinic from 9-11, then lunch and first aid training for 2 ˝
hours. This first aid training meets the requirements set up the GEJFA.
The instructors will be paid for by the GEJFA.
- NYSCA clinic – John is looking into this. The Mercer
Island Boys and Girls Club is also looking into establishing a NYSCA Chapter
and providing training.
- Coaches Meeting – Ron Walker will look into seeing if
Coach Tom Bainter (Bothell HS) is available to be our guest presenter.

Coach’s exam – This was approved last meeting, the exam will be
updated.
Players
- Age/Weight Chart - (available to be
downloaded)
- Player transfers - (available to be
downloaded)
- Player waivers - (available to be
downloaded)-within 5 lbs. *zero waivers will be allowed for a child to
play down a level.
- Rosters - Master & Game - (available to be
downloaded)
- Camps – posted on the web site
- Seniors – will be held at a higher level. Must report
game scores. The jamboree will be at Bothell High School the Saturday of
Labor Day, 9-3-2005
Officials
- Recruitment - handout – 2 officials are
supposed to be recruited each year from each System. High school age
officials are welcome but we need more adults.
Other Business
- Council Meeting Attendance
- High School rule changes – mouth guards are to be
colored. Only one forward pass, no more multiple forward passes behind the
line of scrimmage are allowed.
- Championship game – Mt SI has a brand new covered
stadium and would like to host Championship, however, Bothell has already
secured Pop Keeney. Mt Si will be held as a backup this year and will be
the field of choice in 2006.
- Need a list of all volunteers (board members/coaches
included) from each system so that they can be covered under insurance.
Please include this in the front of your roster book.
- All Split policies need to be turned if you haven’t
done so already.
