GEJFA MEETING MINUTES-JUNE 6, 2000

Last meeting minutes review no changes noted, posted on web. Changes to By-Laws on how to join GEJFA were reviewed and approved (unanimous vote).
Cheerleading Recognition: on championship weekend each System that has organized cheerleaders with be given time to demonstrate or perform between games. Estimated time will be 3-5 min. per System. This is a worthwhile program and all Systems are encouraged to have a Cheerleading team.
Outside Group Contact: Mariner (E.Everett) was present-introduced Sina and Marchele from their group. Are teaming with Univac this season. Lynnwood and Renton have contacted; Renton will be sponsored by Newport-MAY join next season depending on activity and league growth.
Web Site Review: Payment should be made for this, as well as the rulebooks and BCC rental, by check payable to Bellevue Boys Club Officials and get to Shawn ASAP. This is the $100.00 admin fee that Shawn asked everyone to bring. Also, all teams need to make sure they have sent their website info to Brian Berry (brianberry@hotmail.com) and Matt Campbell (mcampbell@amerec.com) ASAP. This includes any update information.
All Coaches Clinic: To be held at Bellevue Community College (BCC) on August 9th. Starts at 7:00pm sharp with council meeting prior at 6:00pm. Following folks listed to help with level breakouts: Craig Lechner(semi pro), Ed Rafferty (varsity), Glen Wells (jv), Chuck Nichols (sophs.), Mike Pattison (cubs), and Tom Thomason (rookies). Backups for each will need to be identified to Shawn. An outline of what will be covered to be sent before meeting. Will include league/division rules, protest process, officials activity, game protocol, etc.
Equipment Insurance: For non-Boys and Girls Club members only. If interested contact Tom T., information was distributed at meeting last year.
Rule Books-Will be handed out at coaches clinic based on payment info. Each system will receive illustrated books for cubs & rookies and regular rules for upper levels. A limited number of books are available.
Huskies and Seahawk Dates: Committee needs to secure dates for leagues-if necessary, get with last year’s committee members to find out what needs to be done.
Wolverine Base Jersey Change: Bellevue Wolverines will change to white this upcoming season with blue as their away jersey if necessary.
Practice Date and what is allowed prior to this date: The start of practice is the first organized workout session involving system’s coaches. No skill camps or other type of organized activity that involves systems coaches is allowed prior to the start date.
First Aid Classes: Remember a CERTIFIED coach must be on the field at all times beginning this season so get your coaches signed up ASAP. Mercer Island will send first aid info to me this week. Sno. Valley will host classes on July 15 in Bellevue.
Other Business: Preliminary Rosters are due July 1-no exceptions!! Please turn into to Boys and Girls club ASAP.
All systems are required to recruit 2 new referees each year. Ask parents to talk to kids (must have driver’s license) or friends.
Parents conduct form to be completed by each system’s parents. Handout regarding parent conduct included in packet.
There are numerous splits this season, with the Wolverines splitting almost every division. All teams should be aware of the split rules (located on WEB).
There are numerous Jamborees occurring so if system want to participate, get info from Web. First jamboree is available without penalty; each one after cost each team 1 practice. Max.time for any level is 2 hours running clock (just like a practice).
A request was made to add camp info to website. Brain & Matt will look into.
