Discussion about formula for Semi Pro level: All 14 year olds in the 8th grade must provide school verification of grade in school to qualify for weights above 160 lbs. Each System was ask to check with their local schools for what forms are given to the students (i.e. class schedules, etc.) in the fall that list the grade in school.

The use of Bellevue Community College for the all Coaches Clinic in Aug. was discussed and approved. Expenditure estimated at $20 per System for the facilities. More details will be available at the June meeting.

GEJFA has been approached by two new systems about becoming members for this year.

Since all changes have been worked through committees and approved at the Feb. meeting for this years season, the following information is our outline for new systems that want to join:

  1. Application must be made by Dec. 31 to allow review of the new system and work in the changes for the coming year.
  2. A new System must be sponsored by an existing System that is in good standings with a minimum of five years in GEJFA. The sponsoring System will be responsible for education & review of proceedures by the new system. The new System will be on probation under sponsorship for one year.
  3. The new System must have available a game field that meets the acceptance of GEJFA, a High School field with clock and scoreboard. The field must be available every Sat. for round robin league play (first eight weeks).
  4. The new System must have two different colored game jerseys (home / away jerseys).
  5. The new System will remain on probation during the second year. At the end of the second year it may be approved for full membership.

It is the consensus of the Council that work within the existing Systems still needs our full attention. Any new system must present a willingness to follow our rules and have an understanding of our requirement to promote sportsmanship; fair & equal play, and be open to all potential players in their assigned boundaries.
